Mission

Our Goal is to spread Awareness of our cause throughout our community.

We are a grief support group in Biscoe, NC serving the Piedmont region.

We are a Resource Hub providing helpful information for Grieving Families & Children.

Our mission is to help children that have lost a Parent in the act of senseless gun violence. Our goal is to help children & young adolescents with grief support by helping them cope with grief, support their healing process, and offer hope to grieving families that have experienced the death of a loved one.

Healthy grieving is important for everyone, especially children who have their whole life ahead of them. It's very important for children to express their emotions and share their feelings. It's even better when they are around others who can relate and understand.

Why Nariah’s Way Foundation is Important

Vision

Research has shown that unresolved grief and the inability of a young person to cope with the death of a loved one plays a significant role in poor school performance, alcohol and drug abuse, depression, anxiety and an increased risk of suicide.

Our vision is to create a community where children affected by mental and emotional challenges obtain the support and resources they need to cope with grief, build resilience, and thrive despite their challenges.

Youth Programs

Grief Support:

We specialize in: breaking the isolation children feel after a death, Introduce peers who can personally relate, Provide mentorship & therapeutic services. We also identify healthy coping skills for managing grief.

Youth Empowerment:

Youth Empowerment is a process in which children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives. Our Youth Empowerment activities include mindset building, basic life skills, team building, & entrepreneurship.

Education Toolbox:

We believe that it’s important for the surviving parent/caregiver to be educated on grief as well as children. While each children’s group is meeting, their surviving parent(s) or caregivers meet in a separate group with a licensed counselor. This is an opportunity to share the concerns and fears families and friends are facing at home, and to support one another. We will provide additional resources if needed.

For new families, we will provide our Caregiver Survival Checklist. After a loss, we understand that everything is a blur. We have created a checklist to provide focus and organization for your family during this difficult time. Ideally, these items should be addressed within a week after the loved one has been buried.

Over the years of supporting families through grief services, we noticed a significant gap in resources and awareness within low-income communities, particularly in areas like health equity and social justice. In response, we’ve spent the past few years serving as community connectors, offering education programs that promote both health and social justice equity.
